Florida's Premier
Mobile EKG Service

Mobile EKG brings professional electrocardiogram screenings directly to you — at home, at school, or at a clinic. We work with experienced pediatric cardiologists across Florida to ensure every student athlete gets a safe, fast, and accurate heart screening.

An electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a quick, painless test that records the electrical activity of the heart. Small sensors (electrodes) are placed on the chest, arms, and legs to detect the heart's rhythm and patterns.

Florida Is The First State
To Require EKG For Athletes

The new law, known as the Second Chance Act, takes effect July 1, 2025, enforced starting 2026–27 school year.

Who Is Required

All public high school athletes in grades 9–12 participating in interscholastic competitions, practices, tryouts, workouts, and conditioning.

When It's Required

Screening EKG must be completed at least once in the two years prior to athletic participation. Enforced by FHSAA from 2026-27 school year.

Cost Requirements

Schools must provide access to low-cost testing — EKGs must not cost more than $50. Opt-out available for medical or religious reasons.

Abnormal EKG?

By 2028-2029, FHSAA will prohibit any student-athlete with an abnormal EKG from participating until cleared by a cardiologist.

The goal: detect potential heart conditions that could result in sudden cardiac death in young, active athletes who show no symptoms.

Schedule Compliant Screening

Why Are Athletes
Specifically Targeted?

Intense physical activity can trigger life-threatening heart events in teens who show NO symptoms during regular daily life.

Athletes running

Hidden Danger

Standard sports physicals miss up to 96% of deadly heart conditions. Most affected teens have zero warning signs.

School sports

On Field Risk

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the #1 cause of death on school campuses. Screening before participation prevents tragedies.

EKG test

EKG Saves Lives

ECGs are ~95% effective in identifying dangerous heart conditions before a life-threatening event occurs.

"By screening before participation, schools and families can prevent tragedies on the field, court, or track."
